Garden Of Remembrance

Hello Friends!

Just wanted to share a quick post with you.

Catherine has a new kit out called Garden Of Remembrance.  It seemed so fitting to use it for this photo of my father in law who we lost 2 years ago.  

Scrapbooking for me is such therapy.  When he passed I did up an album and a video to match.  I shared it with family and friends at his funeral which of course was nice, however I really found that it helped me deal with his passing and felt like such a tribute to who he was and how we would always remember him.

I hope you will find some time in your day to enjoy our wonderful hobby and share it with others.

Thanksgiving Feast Freebies!

Hope you have all had a great weekend!  I managed to do a bit of cleaning around the house and sorted through a ton of old Halloween costumes now that we are moving onto another holiday season.  Christmas is only about 6 weeks away but before Christmas comes my friends in the states celebrate their Thanksgiving.  Just in time comes a kit from Crescent Moon Designs called Thanksgiving Feast.

Gobble, Gobble!

Hi Everyone!
Hope you are all enjoying beautiful fall weather!  We have had such lovely sunshine lately it feels like it will go on forever, but I know it won't last long!  We enjoyed Thanksgiving here in Canada last weekend, but I know for many of my friends it is still to come and so the kit inspired by the holiday has arrived!  Gobble Gobble by Crescent Moon Designs is now available at Scraps N Pieces!
I did a layout using pictures of our trip to Disneyland last year.  I thought it was the perfect kit to use to showcase all those fantastic Disney character pumpkins!

Happy Halloween

Time for Scrapbooking and Friends

Good Morning!
After a long day at work yesterday I got home and decided to relax my tired feet!  I sat on the couch with my laptop and put together a layout from a picture that I took last summer.  I love this photo so much!  It wasn't spontaneous (I asked the girls to go sit at the end of the dock), but it does convey the relationship the girls have with each other.  They have known each other since my daughter was a baby and even though there is an age difference they have always gotten along.  Their friendship will stand the test of time.

I used this layout to participate in a challenge at Scraps n Pieces.  Each month they put up a list of different challenges.  This one used kits from their Bits n Pieces line for June.  

The kits are from Karen Diamond Designs (BFF Elements, BFF Extra Papers, BFF Grafitti) and Scrappiness Designs (Best Friends Forever Papers).  The staple is from Wendy Tunison (35mm).

I hope this layout has inspired you to scrap one of your favorite moments of friendship.  Until next time...

Spring Is In The Air & Summer Is On The Way!

Hi Everyone!
Hope you have all been well.  Things have been a bit crazy for me so a bit less time for scrapbooking & designing :(  , but I found some time last week to do a couple of layouts featuring a few kits from CatDesignz.

This layout features items from the kit English Garden and the wordart is from Spring

I used photoshop basic shapes and clipped papers to them for a little something extra.

I played a bit and mixed up some kits with this one.  Wordart is Inspirational Wordart Set3, Totally Tropical, Summer Smiles, Summer Notes, English Garden, and Spring.

My Memories Craftables!

Hi Everyone!
I thought that today I would tell you a little about a very exciting new product from CatDesignz and My Memories!
I have been playing around lately with craftables!  What exactly is a craftable you might be asking?  Well, simply put it is a template file used with the My Memories Program in which you lay out all of your design digitally and then print off pages on your home printer to create a masterpiece!  In particular I would like to show off the brand new Mini 3D Photo Album I have just created!  This is based on a design I have seen created several times in traditional paper piecing projects.  The great thing about this is that once you have it created once all you need to do is print it as many times as you like for all the people you want to share it with!  This is perfect for grandparents!  (Did I mention that most of the work is already done for you because it's a template?  Yup, that's right, pop in your pictures and your done!  You can move things around if you want to but you don't have to which makes this super quick and easy!)

And it all ties together into a neat little package! (Perfect for dropping into the mail).

Betty White Memories and Friday Freebie!

Happy Friday Everyone!
I know I have been away for awhile, I am sorry I have left you all hanging!
We just got back from a trip to California so things were a bit crazy before we left and it has taken me a bit to get caught up now that I am home :)
I hope the past few weeks have been good to you and that you are ready to "scrap" with me again!
Another gorgeous little kit has been released again from CatDesignz. This kit is just full of beautiful florals, swirls, and frames.  The colors are some of my favorites!  Rich corals, vibrant greens, pretty peach and of course we can't forget orange!  This fabulous little kit is called "Keep Calm & Be Thankful".  I have a couple of layouts I have done with it, these ones are among my favorite pages now (and as you know, I have done A LOT of pages!)

These 2 pages feature some photos that we just took when we spent a bit of time visiting Madame Toussaud's Wax Museum in Hollywood, California.  Betty White has me re-living fond childhood memories!

Friday Freebie - Love Thy Father

Well, the school supplies have been bought, there are a few new things to add to the closet, and we have a brand new haircut to sport!  I know what all that means to my daughter, but to me it means another photograph opportunity and more pictures to scrapbook as she enters another year of school and she grows another year older!
Time is just flying by and I often feel as though I will never get caught up on those photographs.  If you feel the same way, you might want to look toward using photobooks and templates.  They make scrapping your memories really quick and easy.  All you need to do is drop in your own photos and your done!  The fantastic thing about photobooks and templates is that you are not stuck with just one set layout.  You can move things around, add or delete embellishments, the choice is yours.  If you hop on over to Catherine's My Memories store you will see she has an amazing assortment of photobooks and templates to choose from as well as kits and quickpages.  Right now the sale is on, 35% off at checkout which you can use for everything in her store, even sale items!  The last day of the sale is Aug 31st so don't miss out!

How is a template set different than a photobook?  It is a smaller form of a photobook, usually 4 different page layouts.  You will find many sets have the same or similar layouts as their matching photobook counterparts, just broken down into a smaller set, perfect if you are only looking for a few pages!
Using the My Memories software (which you can pick up for a steal of a deal using my special code STMMMS74799 ) all you need to do is drop in your photos and your finished!  Print, make a DVD or create a video to share on line with your family and friends!  Nothing could be easier, especially when you have gorgeous kits and photobooks on hand!
